Outdoor roller rink to open in downtown Denver in June
Skyline Park is known for its skating rink every winter, but now it’s ready for summer.
DENVER — City Skate, downtown Denver’s first-ever outdoor rink, is now open.
The rink at Skyline Park in downtown Denver will be open all summer and through October 2.
Hosted by the Downtown Denver Partnership (PDD), city skating also has free mini golf. The Skyline Beer Garden also made a return, with rotating taps from Colorado breweries throughout the season.
Throughout the season, skating is free, with skate rentals available for $7 for children 12 and under and $9 for those 13 and over.
“We have seen so much success with the Downtown Denver Ice Rink during the winter months and wanted to find a way to provide the same experience for downtown Denver employees, residents and visitors during the summer,” said Sharon Alton, senior vice president of DDP. Downtown experience. “We’re thrilled to bring back the Skyline Beer Garden and free mini-golf as part of City Skate to create a holistic outdoor destination for summer fun.”
City Skate hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“[DDP] is committed to building a thriving and welcoming downtown Denver, and one of the ways to do that is to create beautiful parks and active public spaces,” Alton said. “Activities like City Skate and Skyline Beer Garden are just one element of our strategy as we attract people and businesses to downtown, creating a vibrant downtown ecosystem. »
