Kazakhstan presents national team uniforms for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics

NUR-SULTAN – The National Olympic Committee (NOC) has presented the team uniform for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, which will take place from February 4 to 20, the NOC’s press service reported.

The uniforms were made by the Kazakh company ZIBROO and created by Russian designer Dmitry Shishkin.

The athletes also participated in the creation of the uniforms and provided recommendations on the design, quality and functionality of the sportswear.

“The Olympic Games celebrate friendship and solidarity. Today it is more important than ever for all nations. Sport has always united and continues to unite nations…Kazakhstan expresses its solidarity with the global community of athletes participating in Beijing-2022 despite the growing difficulties of the pandemic,” said NOC of Kazakhstan Secretary General Andrey Kryukov.

The designers used the special font for the inscriptions on the clothes in accordance with Kazakh traditions. “The designers also honored the hosts of the Olympic Games and their rich traditions and heritage. According to the Eastern Chinese calendar, 2022 is the year of the Black Water Tiger, which inspired the color scheme of the uniform. Black is believed to bring good luck, while blue and white represent water, snow and ice as symbols of the Winter Olympics,” the statement read.

Kazakh athletes have won 82 licenses in eight sports, reports It includes 30 licenses in cross-country skiing, nine licenses in freestyle, including moguls and acrobatics, 12 licenses in ice skating, 12 licenses in biathlon, nine licenses in short track skating, four licenses in alpine skiing and ski jumping, two licenses in Nordic Combined.

As of January 18, the National Olympic Team consisted of 32 athletes. The complete list of participants will be available after the publication of the results of the redistribution of licenses from international federations in certain sports.
