The bad news is that Thai skateboarding OGs Preduce have closed their longtime store in Siam Square. The good news? It was to make way for a new store and a vast skatepark in Phra Khanong.

A grand opening party is planned for later this month for Baan Preduce, where skaters can perform ollies and shove-its in a large indoor-outdoor skatepark. There’s even a cafe and bar called Teens of Preduce which was a collaboration with the hip Chinatown haunt Teens of Thailand.

The construction of the huge skatepark began a year ago and is the realization of the skate brand’s biggest dream.

“Opening a skatepark has always been a dream for us, from the very beginning,” said Preduce co-founder and cinematographer Janchai Montrelerdrasme. Coconut. “After 20 years, we decided it was time to relocate and modernize our brand with a fully-fledged skatepark and storage area in one location.”

The skate park includes bowls, pyramids, Chinese banks, hubbas, European spaces, handrails, sets of double stairs.

“While I wouldn’t say our skatepark is the biggest, we make up for it in the variety of ramps and rails on offer,” Janchai said.

Indeed, the last two years have seen a skate boom across Thailand, with several new skate and skate-surf venues opening in the city.

The opening of Baan Preduce on August 20 will feature music, food and drink, plus tips from the Preduce team and other local brands and skaters.

Preduce Skateboards opened in 2002 as the first Thai skateboard brand to sell their own gear. His Siam Square store operated for 16 years.

Baan Preduce is located minutes away from BTS Phra Khanong on Farmwattana Road, just off Rama IV Road near Kluai Nam Thai intersection.
