2022 Olympics live updates: Mikaela Shiffrin’s final shot, two-man bobsleigh, figure skating final, how to watch and medal count
Throughout the 2022 Winter Olympics, here we’ll get a daily look at the top events and how to watch them.
With jet lag, each day’s live competition in China begins during Eastern prime time and runs overnight until mid-morning. This is the final episode, covering events taking place on Saturday and Sunday in Beijing (Friday night through Sunday morning in the US), including the closing ceremony.
All dates and times below are converted to Eastern Time, 1:00 p.m. Beijing Time. The primetime show hosted by NBC’s main channel begins at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. On Friday there will be live freestyle skiing with the men’s halfpipe final, as well as delayed coverage of figure skating with the pairs short program and bobsleigh with the first and second rounds of the women’s event together. On Saturday, it will feature live bobsledding with the final runs of the two-man event as well as delayed coverage of the figure skating pairs freestyle. On Sunday, it will air delayed coverage of the closing ceremony. All events can be streamed on Peacock or NBCOlympics.com.

Top US Events
Alpine skiing
What: Mixed Team Parallel Event
When: Friday, 9 p.m.-10:25 p.m. (1/8 final, quarter-final, semi-final); Friday, 10:28 p.m. (finals)
TV: USA and streaming
A frustrating Olympics for Mikaela Shiffrin sees her get another shot at a medal in the mixed team parallel slalom competition. Shiffrin, who has won two individual golds and a silver at the past two Winter Olympics, has won three “didn’t finishes” and no medals in his five individual events.
Figure skating
What: Pairs Free Skating
When: Saturday, 6 a.m.
TV: USA and streaming
In the last event of the figure skating program, the American pairs have a chance to win a medal. Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier sit in sixth place, with American duo Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy LeDuc just behind them in seventh. They are both just over eight points from the medal after the short program.
freestyle skiing
What: Men’s Halfpipe Final
When: Friday, 8:30 p.m.
TV: USA and streaming
Freestyle skiing ends with the men’s halfpipe final, featuring four Americans – Alex Ferreira, David Wise, Birk Irving and Aaron Blunck – in the group of 12. Athletes earn three runs with the best score counting. Wise is the only person to win Olympic gold in men’s freeskiing halfpipe, winning the crown on the event’s debut in 2014 and again in 2018. Ferreira took silver in Pyeongchang.
Bobsled
What: Two women, heat 3-4
When: Saturday, 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
TV: USA (heat 3, delayed, 8:55 a.m.; heats 3 and 4, delayed, 12:45 p.m.) and streaming
Elana Meyers Taylor and Sylvia Hoffman are third after two races, with American duo Kaillie Humphries and Kaysha Love two behind. Meyers Taylor has two silver and one bronze in this event. Humphries won gold in 2010 and 2014 and bronze in 2018 while competing for Canada. The total time of the four heats determines the medals.
